You have no less than two years directly relevant work experience and comprehensive experience working with automated accounting and financial reporting systems. We prefer candidates with a mix of public accounting and industry accounting experience.

The starting pay range is $25 - $32 per hour plus health insurance, a generous time off schedule, and the flexibility and autonomy that come with working in a microbusiness. I’m looking to fill this position immediately.

About The Role

- BOOKEEPING – 35%
- Verify and enter financial transactions into QuickBooks Online to categorize cash receipts and cash disbursements for multiple businesses with 90% accuracy.
- Review transactions completed by clients or other staff members.
- Agree transaction details to supporting documentation when available.
- Scan and attach supporting documentation to transaction record in QuickBooks when available.
- Reconcile asset and liability accounts in QuickBooks.
- Maintain proper financial internal controls ensuring adherence to industry standards and compliance with company policies.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements, and filing reports.
- MONTH END CLOSING – 30%
- Manage multiple client relationships by serving as the primary point of contact.
- Create and maintain a detailed communication schedule for required reports and deadlines.
- Train clients in QuickBooks Online maintenance.
- Coordinate chart of accounts updates with clients.
- Research QuickBooks online discrepancies.
- Reconcile general ledger to client maintained subledger or supporting spreadsheets.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Review and explain variance to budget and prior year for client accounts.
- Process client payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions or serve as backup for these functions.
- TAX PREPARATION – 20%
- Serve as the primary point of contact for tax preparation.
- Request required information from the client.
- Prepare individual or business tax returns with 90% accuracy using information supplied by the client.
- Review completed tax returns and correct errors prior to supervisor review.
- COLLABORATION & ADMINISTRATION– 15%
- Participate as an active member of the staff to meet organizational goals.
- Work closely with current and potential clients, vendors, bankers, insurance agents, consultants, and other professionals as requested.
- Research items as requested. Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required, quite often on short notice.
- Answer incoming phone calls. Receive, prepare, and send postal mail.
- Organize, set up and clean up refreshments and office supplies.
- Ensure the workspace is always presentable and ready to receive our guests.
